On September 14, Mr. Michael O’Hara, global general manager of furniture and environment testing division of Underwrites Laboratories Inc., (UL) led a delegation of 7 person visited SQI for communication. Mr. Ji Fei, president of SQI, Mr. Xie Mingshun, director of Institute of Quality Inspection of Building Materials and Interior Decoration and secretary-general of National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee attended the reception meeting.

On the meeting, Mr. Ji Fei introduced the development, talents scale, inspection and testing scope and the capacity of scientific research of SQI. He hoped that both sides could communicate and cooperate more in standard formulation, testing equipment development, risk monitoring and evaluation, incidents response and research and service brand construction. Then, Mr. Michael O’Hara introduced the operation status and technology advantage of UL. He also expressed the willing to cooperate with SQI deeply in the future.

Through deep communication, both side eventually determined to develop diversified cooperation mode in furniture standardization, inspection and testing, laboratory construction, communication and training and so on.

After the meeting, the guests visited the key laboratory of National Furniture Inspection Center of SQI and invited SQI to visit UL headquarter in the future.
