On April 11, Mr. Jens Ekwall, technical manager of IKEA furniture and textiles compliance department led a delegation of 3 people to visit SQI for communication. Mr. Ji Fei, president of SQI and person in charge of Institute of Quality Inspection of Building Materials and Decoration of Furniture and National Furniture Standardization Committee attended the meeting.

On the meeting, Mr. Ji Fei showed warm welcome to the visit of IKEA and introduced the basic situation, development ideal and capability and qualification of SQI by the means of video and demonstrated the new international standard proposal and the cooperation points between both sides in the ISO standard revision work. Mrs. Luo Jufen, secretary general of National Furniture Standardization Committee introduced the standardization management mechanism of furniture in China, streamlining and simplifying policy in furniture standardization and the similarities and differences of furniture standards at home and abroad to the guests. IKEA introduced the basic situation of the company''s industry and sales scale, design, business and production concept as well as IKEA''s quality team composition, product quality control process and its work contents and plans in ISO and other furniture standardization organizations.

Both sides ultimately determined to cooperate on the revise of international furniture standard system, furniture inspection and testing, standard penetration, policy information sharing and other aspects to promote the better development of the two sides.

Then IKEA delegation was invited to visit laboratories of National Furniture Quality Inspection Center in SQI and had a detailed understanding of our technical ability in the field of wood, furniture, hardware and other products, and exchanged with test engineers on product testing technology.
